Ed Byrne

Ed Byrne's live shows have been going through the roof. He has recently completed a massive 80 date tour which has left promoters and venue managers stunned by the response. Apparently they 'have never seen anything like this before'.

Not surprising then that at last year's Aspen Comedy Festival (US Comedy Arts Festival) the only UK comedians invited to perform were Eddie lzzard and Ed Byrne. By the end of the Edinburgh Festival of the same year the Fringe Box Office announced that Ed Byrne was their largest selling show!

This year's Edinburgh Festival saw Ed perform a shorter run of 10 days but in the biggest venue - The Assembly Room, Music Hall. Ed again had another sellout run on his hands (including extra dates added on).

Over the past 2 years Ed has developed phenomenal success on the international circuit where he has performed to capacity audiences in Montreal (Just for Laughs) Dublin, Paris, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand. Again response was such that at both the Melbourne and New Zealand festivals extra shows had to be added ensuring that once again Ed was the largest selling act at the festivals. Ed's draw is such that in New Zealand only two other international comedians can top his sales, being Michael Barrymore and Billy Connolly!

In addition to his stand up work Ed had hosted the GLR Children In Need show at the Shepherds Bush Empire, showcased at the Melrose Improv in Los Angeles, presented coverage at the MTV Music Awards, acted in a play reading (drama) at The Tricycle Theatre. With his stand up he has made dazzling appearances on BBC's Stand Up Show (extended set), Late Night With Conan O'Brien (NBC his 5*" appearance in 17 months), Channel Five's The Comedy Store, UK Gold's Live at Jongleurs and Des O'Connor Tonight ITV.

Ed is now actively and seriously developing his acting career, He is currently filming a feature film, RAT (Universal Films) produced by Alison Owen (Elisabeth) where he plays the role of Rudolph, Previous to this Ed was seen acting in The Channel Four Sit Corn Festival in July and also had a principal role in an Absolutely Productions sitcom pilot, Jesus Green. Radio includes a comedy play, The Pig's Back (BBC Radio 4).
